On The Wings Of A Prayer

Just close your Eyes and open your heart,
And feel your worries and cares depart.
Just yield yourself to the Father above,
And let him hold you secure in his love.

For life on earth grows more involved,
With endless problems that can't be solved,
But God only ask us to do our best,
Then he will take over and finish the rest...

So when you are tired, discouraged and blue,
There is always one door that is open to you,
And that is the door to The House of Prayer,
And you'll find God waiting to meet you there.
And The House of Prayer is no further away,
than the quiet spot where you kneel and pray.

For the heart is a temple when God is there
As we place ourselves in his loving care.
And he hears every prayer and answers each one
When we Pray in His name - Thy will be done.
The burdens that seemed too heavy to bear
Are lifted away on the wings of a prayer.

Why Ethiopia?

Why Ethiopia?
Heartstrings pull us in the direction we think we are meant to go. Our inner voice sometimes speaks quietly, and then sometimes, becomes insistant, like a drum. I wonder, if our connections in life are preordained, and when the time is right, we are called? I feel a call from far away. I feel my heartstrings being pulled. Why Ethiopia?
I borrowed a few facts from another blogger, and I thought I'd post them. Hopefully this helps answer a few curiosities. These are stark realities that children of Ethiopia endure. These, among many other reasons, will bring us to Ethiopia.

Ethiopia's doctor to children ratio is 1 to 24,000
-1 in 10 children die before their 1st birthday

-1 in 6 children die before their 6th birthday

-There are 4.5 million orphans in Ethiopia

-720,000 children have been orphaned by AIDS alone

-1.5 million people in Ethiopia are infected with HIV

-60% of children in Ethiopia are stunted because of malnutrition

-1/2 of the kids in Ethiopia will never attend school

-88% will never attend secondary school
